The legalization of marijuana for recreational use I think should not happen. My reasons behind this is purely for the sake of human anatomy or science. It is known that marijuana kills your brain cells but gives you a euphoric feeling and that could be one of the reasons it is highly used; other than it being addictive. If marijuana is legalized than what would the world be like for a day?

If everyone could get there hands on this drug than maybe the world would shift into madness. All I see is people getting high and not caring about what is going on; which could be the ultimate reason why people get high.If everyone got high, then there would definitely be a shortage of food supply. There would be a decline in I.Q levels. Everything would be chaotic; and the drug dealers would be the one getting paid. Marijuana being used for recreation is not only unethical but stupid. I'm thinking about how many young adolescents who could get hooked on this drug and try to spend the rest of their life as a recovering addict. The high feeling could lead to someone who cannot control their actions and lead to very deep problems.
But then again i could be looking at this all wrong. Marijuana is used to help with health problems today, and maybe could benefit some how in the future. If marijuana is legalized then there could be more jobs for the working man. You never know that maybe there would be less conflicts to be resolved because everyone has other things on their mind. Now, we have alcohol available; it is legal in most states. Where alcohol is legal not everyone is an alcoholic, so if marijuana was legalized then there's a good chance that not everyone would be addicted.

I really cannot say if i am for or against. At least not now, but if maybe the tables turn and it was my own kids or the younger generation in my family doing any form of marijuana I'd have a stronger stand point. But right now it's just up in the air. I could go for or against because the things I presented, I think, make a good argument. And that's pretty much it on that subject.

wow man. i didn't know all those things happen when you consume cannabis. but it is a good idea to legalize it because it would put all the drug dealers completely out of business. if it was in stores, cheaper than the street price, than who would buy from the dealers?
and it would be safer for our kids because if it's in stores there will be an age limit. and last time i checked, drug dealers don't check id. and food shortage? come on. that will never happen. and iq levels would not drop.
I'm not trying to tell you cannabis has no hazards, because it would be strange if a drug had no hazards, but no one has ever in the history of mankind ever died from marijuana. But technically marijuana is safer than advil or any other drug in the world. because if you take 59 advils you will die. I wil give you$100,000 if you find a single person that has died from overdose of marijuana.
people need to stop believing rumors and do some research. Im a senior in highschool and know that marijuana and its side affects are just assumptions. In reality marijuana has never been proven to be a gateway drug or create laziness. People need to stop assuming that the bad is true and instead look at what is good and what the government is doing.
Marijuana actually hepls aids and cancer patients live. It slows the growth of the disease allowing them to live longer and also gives them more time to find help to cure their disease if possible. Not only does it help the sick but the revunue that america could recieve if they chose to tax marijuana would be big enough to pay off the debt of the united states to foreign countries. Did you know that the U.S. spends roughly $10 billion dollars per year on the arrest and prosecution of marijuana users wether it is a successfull business man/woman or a teenage boy trying to relax after school. That $10 billion could be used and invested in paying off foreign debts, investing in green energy, arresting and prosecuting murderers and rapists, or how about the protection of the united states? I think people need to reconsider there thoughts on marijuana and research the possibilities if it should be legalized.
